Sculptural Textile Necklaces
Hand crafted from ribbon, stone and wood
My pieces are made of interwoven layers of richly colored grosgrain ribbon, and accented with wood, stone and glass.
Their structure is derived from the crepe paper party garlands we made as kids. Their colors reference nature, with hues reflecting the earthy warmth of stone, bark and spices; the cool crispness of sea and sky; and the richness of blossoms and berries.
Many of my designs interpret unexpected moments of natural beauty I encounter, with inspirations including a seagull in Norway; a lichen-covered pillar in Maine; and a rose-wrapped slate house in Germany.
